Douglas A. Hall, 67, Loysburg, died suddenly on Thursday. He was born in Altoona, the son of the late Herbert D. and the late Joan S. (Stayer) Hall.

He married Joanne Robinette on November 17, 1984 in Cumberland, Maryland.

Surviving are his wife; two sons: Tyler (Brittany) and Tadd (fiancé, Abigail Ollinger); and two grandsons: Dolan and Silas, all of Loysburg. He is also survived by two special aunts: Sarah Seifert of Bedford and Ann Radi of California.

Doug graduated in 1973 from Northern Bedford High School. He attended the PA Gunsmith School in Pittsburgh from 1973 to 1976. He ran the family business WL Hall Lime & Coal Inc. in Loysburg.

He was a member of Loysburg United Methodist Church, Southern Cove Power Reunion, Cove Lions Club, and was a trustee of the Dry Hill Cemetery Association.

Doug loved everything about coal. He loved history and had a deep appreciation for those who worked in the coal mines. He was a very hardworking man and he loved working in the coal yard.

He loved trucks, yard work, spending time with his family, and adored his dogs. Doug was a race car fanatic and a die-hard St. Louis Cardinals fan.

Friends will be received from 4 p.m. to 8 p.m. on Monday May 23, 2022; and the funeral will be from 10 a.m. to 11 a.m. Tuesday,

May 24, 2022, at Faith United Methodist Church, Woodbury. Pastors Joshua Tobias and Ed Jelliff will officiate. Interment will be in Dry Hill Cemetery.

Arrangements are being made by Stone Funeral Home & Cremation Services Inc., Woodbury.

Memorial contributions may be made to the Bedford County Humane Society.
