4th Annual Edwardsville Book Festival

9 a.m. to 2 p.m. at the Edwardsville Public Library in City Park. Join in for this family day of ‘literary’ fun, featuring regional authors, new and used book sales, children’s activities, live entertainment, crafts, and food and drink. Don’t miss this beautiful day.

Woofstock 2022

11 a.m. to 3 p.m. at 2082 South Moreland Road, Edwardsville. The Metro East Humane Society’s Woofstock 2022 features a special performance by Mike Sonderegger as well as a dog park, food and beer, children’s area, craft vendors, dog demonstrations, dogs adoptables and pony rides. sausage supper

From 3 p.m. to 7 p.m. at 2520 Poplar Street, Highland. The Evangelical United Church of Christ is hosting a drive-thru sausage supper. Dinners include a pound of sausage, sauerkraut, mashed potatoes and gravy, green beans and apple pie.

Rockin’ for recovery

4-10 p.m. at Bethalto Central Park, 213 North Prairie Street, Bethalto. The annual Amare Music Festival presented by Bickle Electric Contracting Co. will help raise awareness and celebrate individuals and families recovering from and impacted by substance use. The event is free to the public and is a family affair with Woodson BBQ and The Sweet Side food trucks, bouncy houses provided by Gateway Bounce, face painting, resource and organization booths, vendors and live music. Bickle Electric VIP tickets can be purchased for $10 on the event’s Eventbrite page.

Free Demonstration Stretch and Strengthen Chair Class

5:30 p.m. to 6:15 p.m. in the RP Lumber Center Community Hall. A session of six prepaid classes will begin on September 26. The class is designed to be done primarily seated with little to no standing. The class will focus on strength training and flexibility for better balance. Taught by Jeanne Carter.
