The Northern Kentucky Tri-County Economic Development Corporation (Tri-ED) continues to expand its team, with David McAleese joining as Director of Research.
McAleese most recently served as Senior Director, Area Research at Macy’s Inc., where he had worked since 2006.
He graduated from Binghamton University in New York State, where he earned a bachelor’s and master’s of arts degree in geography.
Earlier this year, Tri-ED launched its Build + Elevate NKY campaign, and the organization surpassed its investment goal of $4.5 million. In July, the company began working on four campaign-funded initiatives:
• Data-driven community decision-making
• Enable Northern Kentucky Port Authority
• Provide customized workforce solutions
• Targeted business growth
McAleese will be responsible for leading the data-driven community decision-making initiative, as well as conducting industry and economic research and supporting data management for Tri-ED and its economic development operations.
It will also provide the company with data support and share demographic, economic, real estate and business trends so that Tri-ED staff are equipped with the latest information to help customers and communities.
“David will play a vital role on our team as we move beyond the investment part of our campaign towards delivering on our key initiatives,” said Christine Russell, vice president of Tri-ED strategy. “We’re excited to have him bring 16 years of research experience at a Fortune 500 company.”
In this role, McAleese will also have important day-to-day relationships with REDI Cincinnati, the Kentucky Cabinet for Economic Development, partner organizations, local communities and outside businesses.
Tri-ED is also recruiting a Workforce Development Manager and a Real Estate and Projects Specialist, two newly created positions within the company.
