ERIC, PA – Allegheny Health Network recently announced that Karen Surkala, President of Westfield Memorial Hospital, has taken on a new role for the organization as Chief Operating Officer of AHN Saint Vincent Hospital.

Going forward, Surkala and Chris Clark, DO, president of AHN Saint Vincent Hospital, will jointly lead Westfield. AHN will also hire an administrator to help manage day-to-day operations at the Southwest New York Hospital.

An accomplished healthcare executive with significant experience in the Northwestern Pennsylvania healthcare market, Surkala was appointed President of Westfield in 2019. She also served as Vice President and served from 2007-2011. -time, she was CEO of Select Specialty Hospital. , a long-term care facility in Erie, and as Senior Vice President at AHN Saint Vincent from 2012 to 2015.
